The 2016 Retail Insurance Company of Year Award has been won by Anchor Insurance Company Limited through her retail and innovative product; Anchor loss of Employment Insurance Scheme (AnchorLoEIS) at the 4th BusinessToday Insurance and Pension Awards 2016 held at Protea Hotel, Lagos recently.

A statement by the Head, Brand & Corporate Communications of the underwriting firm,Jamiu Osoba, said prestigious award in its 4th edition is one of the most sought-after awards in the Insurance and Pension sub-sector of the Nigeria economy and bestows nationally acceptable recognition and honour on her recipients.

This award has no doubt bestowed a well deserved honour on Anchor Insurance Company Limited as an innovative insurance company and confirmed the relevance and acceptability of this unique product; Anchor Loss of Employment Insurance Scheme to the labour force and insuring public.

The product was designed to cushion the effect an unexpected loss of and was approved by NAICOM to meet the yearning of insuring public for innovation to address contemporary challenges of working class in the event of job loss. This product guarantees a maximum 24-month salary payment after job loss.

Anchor Insurance Company Limited, a vibrant Non-Life insurance underwriting firm has returned smiles in the faces of so many workers that have lost their jobs through monthly payment of insured salaries.

The company has redeemed its claims payments to over 120 workers on the scheme who had recently lost their jobs through no fault of theirs and due the biting economic recession which has led to downsizing in many companies across the country.

Receiving the awards on behalf of the company, the General Manager, Retail and Microinsurance, Mr. Uzoma Ofurum thanked the organizers of the awards for the recognizing the retail values of Anchor Loss of Employment Insurance Scheme (AnchorLoEIS) and promised that with this award, the company has been spurred on to develop more tailored-make and unique insurance products that will meet the yearnings and needs of the insuring public like AnchorLoEIS.

“We are delighted to be recognized with the development of this rare insurance product. This award is a testimony to this fact and now encouraged not rest on our oars but challenged to come up with more unique and acceptable insurance products” he stated.

Meanwhile, the company’s Managing Director, Mr. Mayowa Adeduro has thanked the organizer of the award and urged many workers who are still on the fence in signing up this scheme to stop procrastinating and insure themselves with AnchorLoEIS so as to have a guarantee access to their employment income in case of eventuality of a job loss.
