The Corporate Affairs and Communications Managers of Insurance companies (CAMCONIA) under the auspices of the Nigerian Insurance Association (NIA), has engaged the immediate past Editor of Vanguard Newspaper, Mideno Bayagbon, to deliver a paper at its February monthly meeting.

A statement by the Chairman of CAMCONIA, Dr. Tunde Odeyemi, said Bayagbon is expected to speak on the theme: The Imperatives of Online Media for Insurance Penetration in Nigeria, adding that online media has come to stay and that the line between analog and digital media is blurring and going into extinction.

He noted that the meeting will hold at the NIA office at 42, Saka Tinubu Street, Victoria Island, Lagos by 10.00am and will have in attendance all the corporate communications and brand managers of Insurance companies in Nigeria.

He said as media continues to experience dynamism, shift and transformation, it is essential as brand and communications managers to be inundated with these changes and educate ourselves well enough to explain the new development to our stakeholders and engage the current trend so as to sustain relevance in the corporate communications field.

Bayagbon is a journalist of great repute, he has more than three decades experience in journalism. He was at various times Senior Assistant Editor, Features Editor and Deputy Features Editor of Vanguard Media Limited, which he first joined as an intern in 1985.

He rose through the ranks to become the Group Deputy Editor and eventually the Editor of Vanguard Newspaper for eight years before he resigned his appointment to start The News Guru, a multi-media company and Nigeria’s comprehensive online news portal.
