CIIN inducts 3 fellows, 161 associates

The Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN) would be inducting three fellows and 161 associates to join the ranks of insurance professionals in the country.

A statement by the Corporate Affairs Unit of the Institute, stated that the induction and awards ceremony, which are parts of the Institute’s 2016 Graduation is slated for Wednesday December 7, 2016 at Ten Degrees Event Centre, in Lagos.

According to the Institute’s Director-General, Richard Olutayo Borokini, the CIIN has ratified a list of 161 new Associates, adding that the new associates will be inducted into the fold of Insurance Professionals along with the new Fellows of the Institute.

“In the latest development, the Institute’s Governing Council has ratified the award of the Institute’s prestigious Fellowship to three deserving members who following a stringent process were able to meet the requirements of attaining the Fellowship of the premier professional body in Nigeria. They are; Dr. Pius Oyabramo Apere; Mrs. Nomwen Emeghalu and Olusegun Ayo Omosehin.

“The new Fellows will be swearing to the oath of allegiance to uphold the codes of conduct and ethics of the Insurance profession. As Fellows, they must see themselves as custodians of the basic principles of Insurance as well as the ethics and codes of practice,” he said.

He posited that with the addition of three Fellows, the Institute’s Society of Fellows now numbers 215, comprising men and women of proven integrity.

In a related development, the CIIN will be hosting the December 2016 edition of its Breakfast Seminar Series on Thursday, December 8, at Golden Gate Paradise, Ikoyi commencing from 7.30am. The Special Guest Speaker at the Seminar will be Bukar Kyari, Chairman, Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG).
