CIIN invites entries for October 2019 examinations

* Gives 15% discount for early registration

Entries are invited online from interested persons within and outside the insurance industry for the October 2019 professional examinations, the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN), has canvassed.

A document signed by the Director-General of the Institute, Richard Borokini, noted that interested persons should enter for the examinations online through, www.ciinnigeria.com, adding that an early bird payment discount of 15 per cent on examination subject fees would be granted to those who register and pay within the first three weeks of registration, ranging from June 3 -June 21, 2019.

The CIIN noted that the levels of the examinations are: Certificate in Insurance; Diploma in Insurance and Advance Diploma in Insurance.

On eligibility for entry, it said all persons desirous of sitting the examinations, whether at certificate; diploma or advance diploma level are required to register as members of the Institute, adding that persons seeking to commence the examinations must have passed the Senior Secondary Certificate or GCE ordinary level examinations with credits in five subjects including English Language and Mathematics at not more than two sittings.

It maintained that those entering for Certificate in Insurance could be fresh entrants, adding that completion of the certificate in insurance logically qualifies existing students for entry into the Diploma in Insurance stage.

The CIIN maintained that prescribed fees for the examinations include: Student Membership fee, N4000; Annual Subscription, N3000; Building levy, as applicable; Library fee (payable yearly), N2000; Exemption fee, same as subject fee; Non-refundable entry fee, N12,000 and Transcript fee, N5,000.

It said subject fees are: Level one, N7,500; Level two, N9,500; Level three, N15,000; Late entry fee, N5000; Change of exam centre fee, N5000 and Change of subject fee, N5000.

The Institute posited that rebates on fees are available for undergraduates of any discipline, stressing that they are required to register for the examinations at its secretariat or at the various branch affiliates nationwide to enable them enjoy the discount and that proof of studentship is required to process the registration.

It said all members interested in sitting for the examinations are required to pay their outstanding fees and levies alongside their examinations fees to avoid non-issuance of examination number.

According to the Institute, course books are mandatory for first time sitting for any subject registered and that the course books are available for sale at the secretariat.

It also noted that tutorial classes are available for examination candidates, adding that candidates should contact 08053020240 for enquiries.

The Institute maintained that entry commences on Monday, June 3, 2019 and ends Wednesday, June 31, 2019, stressing that late registration commences, Thursday, August 1, 2019 and ends Friday, August 30, 2019.

All exemptions, it noted are processed centrally at its secretariat and if granted, added to the student’s portal centrally after fulfilling all applicable conditions.
