The College of Insurance and Financial Management has produced 14 diploma in insurance graduates, a move which will help strengthen human capacity needs of the Insurance industry.
President, Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN) Mrs Funmi Babington-Ashaye, at the graduation ceremony at the College campus in Asese Village, Ogun State, lauded the graduands, whom she called beacon of lights. She encouraged them to uphold the virtue acquired from the college, adding that they emerged at a time the insurance industry is highly in need of thorough professionals.
She noted that as a measure to take the College to lofty heights, the Council of CIIN, has agreed to give 50 per cent of its grants to support the college.
Chairman, Governing Board of College of the College and Deputy President, CIIN, Eddie Efekoha; implored the graduands to uphold the ethical practice inculcated in them, stressing that the institute abhors unethical behaviors.
Special Guest of Honour and Chairman, Scib Nigeria Limited, Ololabi Ogunlana, charged them to be good professionals and acquire more skills for insurance is very difficult to sell. According to him, only dogged and thorough professionals can sell and retail clients in insurance business.
The Guest Speaker, Executive Director, FBN Insurance General Limited, Babatunde Mimiko, urged them to make right choices as the choices they made in the past brought them to where they are presently. He noted that making the right choice will take them to the next level of progress.
He maintained that they have emerged at a time the insurance industry needs to take its rightful position, stressing that if they are to turn around the industry, they must be bold and game changers.
He urged them to have vision; dream big; be strategic, challenge their challenges and seek knowledge.
Rector of the College, Dr. (Mrs) Yeside Oyetayo, said the college has continued to impart the insurance industry positively through training and research, adding that over 75 students trained by the College had secured employment in insurance firms.
She called on public to patronise and support the College.
