The Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (NCRIB) has called on politicians and electorates to pursue peace and good governance so as to move the nation forward.

Its President, Shola Tinubu, said this yesterday at the February edition of the NCRIB members’ evening in Lagos, stressing that without peace and good governance, business environment may continue to remain in jeopardy.

“At this point, I would like to call on relevant authorities to address the dangers that may work against the success of the remaining part of the elections,” he added.

He congratulated Nigerians that voted during the last election, adding that it is the civic responsibility as citizens of Nigeria to vote and that he hoped, that at the end of the day there will be the desired peace and progress in the Country.

Tinubu noted that in view of the avowed intention of his administration to bequeath a formidable institution, the Legal Committee is already setting in motion the review of the NCRIB Rules and Ethics, adding that it is also poised to address sundry issues relating to institution building.

The Secretariat, he said has been directed to circulate the rules to members and elicit their input to make the rules and Ethics robust and a product of wide consensus.

He maintained that one of the council’s statutory responsibilities every year is to publish the names of all eligible members of the Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers in National Dailies, adding that the Council would definitely carry out this statutory obligation shortly.

“Our experience in the past have shown that many Brokers that failed to meet up with the requirements for the publication often face significant challenges in business due to the attendant negative image that non-inclusion in the list attracts. I am urging you to regularize your membership status with the Secretariat without further delay. Please do not wait for the time your NAICOM renewal is due. All NCRIB Certificates are due for renewal every 1st of January,” he said.

He applauded the host company, Linkage Assurance Plc, for being the first to host the event in 2019, whilst congratulating the Managing Director/CEO, Daniel Braie on his appointment as Managing director of the firm, stressing that it is hope of the NCRIB that the company would witness tremendous lift in its perception index by Insurance Brokers translating in enhanced bottom line for the company.
