FBNInsurance doles out N250,000 to indigent students

FBNInsurance Limited, in line with her Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability policy, has awarded scholarships worth N250,000 to indigent students of Aragba Primary School, Aragba-Orogun, near Abraka, Delta State.

Speaking at the cheque presentation ceremony which held at the palace of the traditional ruler of Aragba Kingdom, the Managing Director, FBNInsurance Limited, Val Ojumah,restated the commitment of the company to solid Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability (CR&S) initiatives that will better the lot of the people and the society where the business operates.

“Education has no substitute. Getting children in these villages to stay in school is a problem. With this scholarship, we hope more children would be inspired to stay in school while their parents would be relieved of some of the financial burden involved in sending them to school,” Ojumah said.

Head, Marketing and Corporate Communications, FBNInsurance, Elizabeth Agugoh, said: “As a corporate entity, we are not going to pretend we don’t know the challenges in our society. We do, and that’s why we have put together a virile CR&S policy aimed at contributing our bit to the betterment of our society. With this scholarship, we are laying the foundation for a new generation of children who would one day become important men and women in the society. We are delighted to be part of their education.”

Barrister Ndakara, the President-General of Aragba Kingdom, thanked FBNInsurance for the kind gesture and promised that the funds would be put to the intended use.
Incorporated six years ago, FBNInsurance Limited boasts a large retail network of over 1,885 retail sales agents operating from 28 sales outlets and three branch offices nationwide. Its Abraka sales outlet is one of five new offices opened this year.
