Insurance agents hope to collectively examine the recently released revised guideline on microinsurance and determine how to maximize opportunities therein.
The Chairman in Council, Association of Registered Insurance Agents of Nigeria (ARIAN) Gbadebo Olameru, told this medium that the body will sit to analyse the guideline and take a position on how members can harness opportunities provided by the guideline.
According to him, the guideline is one of the best legacies the Commissioner for Insurance Mohammed Kari has made for the industry. He said the guideline has provided a platform for professionals to contribute more to the industry, whilst encouraging professionals to take advantage of the initiative to better their lots and increase insurance penetration in the country.
Managing Director Lancelot Ventures Limited, Adebayo Adeleke, has urged professionals to leverage the guideline to deepen insurance at the grassroots. He also cautioned would be microinsurance operators to avoid mistakes made by some micro finance operators, who left their core area of business to operate like conventional banks.
