Insurance giant Axa set to create 80 call centre jobs

The firm is adding new customer service jobs to its Springtown Business Park base.

The roles will include a range of customer service, claims and sales operations.

Axa has been based at its Springtown Business Park site since 2007 and the new roles will bring job numbers to more than 300.

The firm says it’s now actively looking to fill the new posts.

Earlier this year it revealed it was relocating some of its business roles from Dublin to the north west.

Axa also has 15 branches across Northern Ireland.

Colm McGrattan, executive director of sales and distributions at Axa, said: “Our Derry customer contact centre has proven to be an excellent strategic investment by Axa.

“It efficiently services the company’s business operations across the island of Ireland while at the same time building on Axa’s strong presence with 15 branches across Northern Ireland.”

Axa Insurance began with 20 staff at its Londonderry site in 2007.

And following a review of the business, it decided in the “interests of efficiency and customer service” to move more of its operations to the Londonderry site.

DUP MLA Gary Middleton said the latest jobs boost for the city was “welcome news”.

“A jobs announcement of the scale which Axa is bringing to Londonderry is a boost of confidence to the city and the local economy,” he said.

“I hope to see Axa going from strength to strength”.
