The National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) has said that by June 2020, it will commence the sponsorship of actuarial programme which is aimed at addressing the growing need for professional analysts in the sector.
The Deputy Director/Head, Research, Statistics & Strategy Directorate, NAICOM, Adewale Motajo, disclosed this in Kano, Kano State, adding that the programme is in partnership with the College of Insurance & Financial Management (CIFM) and Nigerian Actuarial Society (NAS).
He noted that the framework was to address sponsorship of candidates through the Certified Actuarial Analyst (CAA) career pathway and to champion actuarial skills retention, stressing that the programme will address the growing need for professional analysts with requisite actuarial, technical and analytical skills to fill key roles in financial institutions.
The qualification, he said is to ensure that those working in technical roles have the required skills and methodology to allow businesses provide assurance to regulators, stakeholders and the public.
