The President, Institute of Loss Adjusters of Nigeria (ILAN), Femi Hassan, is set to present two books which focus on life issues and how to make best use of opportunities.

The books entitled: Time and Life Perspectives and Before My Obituary, will be unveiled at a grand ceremony on Tuesday, November 28, 2017, at Kano Hall, NECA House, Alausa CDA, Ikeja, Lagos by 12PM prompt.

Dignitaries drawn from the insurance industry and other sectors of the economy are expected to graced the event. According to the organisers, the Deputy Managing Director, Hogg Robingson, Alhaji Saheed Egbeyemi, would be the Chairman of the event, while, Major, Timothy Kuforiji (rtd) the Chief Launcher and Chairman, Grandmet, Chief Patrick Egbuniwe, Co-Launcher.

Others are: President, Chartered Insurance Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN),
Mrs Funmi Babington-Ashaye; past Presidents of ILAN, Raph Opara, Darlington Mogbojikwe and more.

Speaking on the books, the author said: “In the course of my life, I have walked through the shadows of death, though I should have died, here I am; the author of two books respectively titled: ‘TIME AND LIFE PERSPECTIVES’ and ‘BEFORE MY OBITUARY’ in one stretch of work. Despite being raised by a single parent, I had father figure in my mother’s neighbours who did not spare the rod whenever I crossed the red line. May God make their graves abode of tranquillity for them, Amen.

“Over the last four decades I have continuously engaged myself in one form of self-development or the other – career building, entrepreneurship, community service and self-appointed Nigeria Ambassador carrying the national flag high whenever and wherever I meet Nigerians in diaspora.”

Continuing he noted: “I belief in this country, Nigeria and patriotic almost to a fault especially when one look at her endowments in both natural and human capital yet the citizenry are poor due to inappropriate leadership. I believe that we shall overcome, even though when that would be I honestly don’t know. But because we all want to see it happen in our life time, hence our anxiety and apprehension in what the future holds for us and our country.

“I am more than confident that the future would be bright. That is not to say that we should not keep the pressure for a better Nigeria going. But wait a minute, what are you also doing in this regard? My advice is that all hands must be on deck. Don’t stand aloof. Don’t make that an excuse for your lax growth and development because as you can see around you every day new milestones are being attained by others in various fields on daily basis. Don’t be an exception.”

The books were forworded by two highly respected personalities from the insurance industry and the academia – the former Commissioner for Insurance, Fola Daniel and Professor Festus Epetimehin PhD. of Joseph Ayo Babalola University, Ikeji,
Osun State.

Daniel, on the book, Before My Obituary, said: “I considered it a rare privilege to give a foreword in respect of the autobiography titled “Before my obituary”. I was taken aback by the title which vividly reminds us all that we are temporary sojourners in this planet earth, and that at one point all references to our existence shall be in the past tenses.

“The author of this book is not a fatalist but a realist, thus when I suggested a change to the title, he simply reiterated that he was not planning an imminent passage, but believed that we are all home-bound at some time that will inevitably come.”

He noted that Hassan is poised to continue to impart invaluable knowledge to upcoming generations of youths, irrespective of their circumstance.

Epetimehin said: “When I was contacted to write the foreword to this book titled “TIME AND LIFE PERSPECTIVES” written by Mr. Femi Hassan, I considered it a great honour. I therefore have no choice than to read through the manuscript of the book.”

He said the information in book is not only the correct testimony of the correlation or nexus between time and life but a testimony of who Hassan is, a man that is very conscious of time and using his knowledge of time management to manage his life activities.
