Those working for individuals or companies whose employers are yet to subscribe to the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) as mandated by law have been urged to report the case to the National Pension Commission (PenCom).

The call was made by the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Inspen Online Media and presenter of ‘Retirement Mata’, a phone-in pidgin programme on 102.7 Naija FM Radio Station, Mr. Chuks Okonta while responding to caller’s question.

One of the callers to the programme had called during the programme and complained that at his place of work there is nothing like pension and asked to know what qualifies workers for contributory pension scheme.

In his response, Mr. Okonta explained that the National Pension Commission Pension Act of 2014 as amended demands that any individual or company that employs more than three workers must subscribe to the contributory pension scheme by opening a Retirement Saving Account (RSA) for the workers as well as ensures regular remittance of their contributions into that account.

Meanwhile, the first set of four recharge cars sponsored by IEI Anchor Pension who recently partnered Inspen Online on Retirement Mata, have been given out to the callers/listeners of the programme.

Speaking before giving our the cards, Mr. Okonta said the cards were given out to allow callers/listeners of the programme that will be lucky to win the card to have enough air time to call during the programme to make known their problems, contributions or suggestions as it concerns CPS, RSA, Pension Fund Administrators (PFAs), Annuity, remittances and other sundry retirement matters.

Retirement mata is a live phone-in pidgin programme produced by Inspen Online Media and broadcasts every Friday on 102.7 Naija FM Radio Station between the hours of 5.00pm and 5.30pm.
