The National Pension Commission (PenCom) has issued compliance certificates to 6492 firms that had complied with the Pension Reform Act (PRA) 2014, even as it called on the public to avoid engaging touts to procure their certificates.

Director and Head, Corporate Communications Department, Peter Aghahowa, said the commission has continued to caution the public on the danger of engaging touts to procure compliance certificate, stressing that the commission has observed increased activities of touts.

PenCom noted that it has observed that majority of the touts present fake evidences of contribution remittances in their attempt to procure pension compliance certificates on behalf of employers.

It urged organisations seeking to obtain the certificate to comply with the duly issued requirements and apply directly.

PenCom posited that due to various steps to improve compliance and coverage, the private sector has continued to show dominance in Retirement Saving Account (RSA) membership.
