23 insurance firms post negative results

Twenty three out of 56 insurance companies in the country recorded losses in 2015, Inspen can report.

According to a report obtained from the Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA) only 33 companies were able to surmount economy challenges and made profits.

Some of the firms that posted losses are: NICON Insurance Plc, N-11.36 billion; Industrial and General Insurance Plc, -3.17 billion; Alliance & General Insurance Plc, N-450 million; Alliance & General Life Assurance Plc, N-171 million; ARM Life Plc N-529 million; Cornerstone Insurance Plc N-545 million and Custodian Life Insurance Limited N-176 million.
