FBNInsurance donates N.1m to motherless, old people home

FBNInsuarnce Limited as part of activities to round off its 5th anniversary celebration, today paid a visit to Heritage Homes & Orphanages, Anthony and the Lagos State Old Peoples’ Home, Yaba, Lagos and donated N250,000 each to the Homes amounting to N500, 000.
Chief Financial Officer, FBNInsuarnce, Festus Izevbizua, while speaking at the Old Peoples’ Home, said the visit was one of the many ways the company shows how much it values the society in which she does business.
“We are committed to ensuring that the society we do business in is well taken care of. Every year, during the Yeletide, we pay visits to the less privileged to appreciate them and to further demonstrate our belief that the society is the bedrock of every business,” he said.
At the Heritage Homes, the company presented a cheque of N250, 000 as well as various gift items donated by it staff in the inaugural edition of the FBNInsurance Staff Gift Drive which aims at donating clothing items; toys; groceries to the less privilege.

In her acceptance speech, the Supervisor of the Home, Mrs Elizabeth Ikwuagwu, thanked the management and staff of the underwriting firm for the kind gesture and promised the donation would be put to good use for the benefits of the children.
The same gesture was extended to the Lagos Old Peoples’ Home, Yaba, where the company donated exotic personal care items; groceries; beverages; fabrics and a cheque of N250, 000 which was received on behalf of the Home by the Chief Matron, Mrs Feyisayo Olaore.

FBNInsurance Limited is currently ranked 5th in the Life Insurance business with a healthy premium income of N7.1 billion, an operating profit of well over a billion naira, while her return on equity was 22 per cent in 2014.
The Company also acquired Oasis Insurance, which has since been re-christened FBNGeneral Insurance, all within her first five years in business.
