Respected insurance industry icon, Prof. Joe Irukwu, has thrown his weight behind the forthcoming Insurance Lawyers’ seminar being organised this month in Abeokuta by Adegboyega Adepegba and Co.
In a statement made available to New Telegraph, the veteran insurance practitioner and Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), recalled that Insurance Law as a discipline had been his major interest for over a period of 50 years.
He added that in those years he had endeavoured to encourage young ones through lectures, seminars and books written by him to embrace the discipline as a veritable tool of achieving their career progress and success in life.
This, he said, would enable them build a formidable human capital for the insurance industry not only in Nigeria but in Africa.
“The Nigerian Insurance Law Association was established to cater for the legal needs of the industry. The organisation offers advice to the industry on developments pertaining to insurance laws, regulatory and compliance issues, etc,” he said.
