The pivotal place of risk management in the evolving global socio-economic development is to take the center stage at the 2017 Risk Managers Society of Nigeria (RIMSON) Conference, holding in Lagos, from Wednesday May 3 to Thursday, May 4, 2017. Venue is De Renaissance Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos.
A statement signed by the President, Engineer Jacob Adeosun, said professionals, especially risk managers, bankers, insurers and managers in government have the onus to constantly apprise themselves with knowledge about the growing risk environment, in order to add value to the society, as well as to their individual practice.
He disclosed that the theme paper, entitled: “Risk management and the changing global paradigms” will be delivered by Mr. Leon Jacobs, Managing Director of Integrated Cash Management Services Limited, while the Guest of Honour is the Governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode.
In order to further enrich the quality of the talkshop, other pivotal papers such as “Disaster Management and Business Continuity: A risk overview”; “Cyber risks, Cybercrime and cyber protection, from Desk to Board room” have also been identified for deliberation.
Similarly, “Risk Management in Governance, the Lagos State Model”; “Risk Management in the Changing insurance business model and Risk Management in a fluctuating oil price environment” are to be featured.
Aside from the resourceful professionals and top notch who have been invited from varied backgrounds and fields to do justice to all the papers, the highpoint of the Conference will be the induction of new members and Fellows into the fold of RIMSON.
Established in 1985, the RIMSON has the objective of promoting risk management culture in Nigeria, and entrenching risk management professionalism.
