Distinguished Pressmen,
Ladies and Gentlemen,
It is my pleasure to welcome you all to the 2022 edition of the Chief Examiner’s Workshop. This programme was put together by the Insitute to keep in focus the major objectives of the Institute regarding the examinations. To reitrate, we have 3 major objectives that we must not loose focus of:
1. The quality and integrity of our examinations must never be compromised.
2. The content, presentation and adequacy of our syllabus must be current and forward looking.
3. Keep the examinations relevant, impactful and meeting the need of the Industry by getting relevant feedback from examiners.
We are here therefore to ensure we are all in agreement with the demands of the Institute and the needs of our examiners so as to build the environment that will guarantee the sustained success and importance of the Institute’s professional examinations.
Let me sincerely appreciate and thank our Chief Examiners for their loyality, selflessness and commitment to the goals of CIIN on our professional examination. Your commitment earned us the status and reputation we enjoy today. Thank you all.
This year’s edition of the Workshop is themed ‘Effective Question Setting- Challenges and Way Forward’ and it will be anchored by a seasoned speaker; Dr.Sunday Aduloju. I am upbeat we will garner and learn much from his wealth of knowledge and experience and subsequently put such knowledge into practice.
Let me reiterate that one of the goals of this programme is to provide and equip our professionals with knowledge that is in tune with the realities and demands of the modern-day insurance practice. To this end, I urge you all to update your knowledge in line with the new syllabus to ensure that we do not fall below already set standards.
At this point, looking at the success the programme has garnered over the years, I will like to appreciate the efforts of the Institute’s Secretariat and the Chairman of the Examination Committee, Past President, Venerable Ladipo Ajayi as well as members of the Committee for the sterling work, they have done through the years. The Institute’s examinations remain a source of pride in the insurance industry in Nigeria and beyond it. It is our duty to ensure that our values never waiver and our offerings do not fall below the standards that we have set.
I equally want to use this opportunity to specially recognise and appreciate all our examiners who have been with us throughout the years and have stayed diligently committed to ensuring that our examinations retain the transparency and legitimacy that it currently has. I would like to remind you all that we are all custodians of the insurance industry and that our actions greatly determine the nature and quality of insurance practitioners that will pilot the affairs of the insurance industry. Today I make this plea, please let us not compromise on our standards.
Once again, I welcome you to this event and restate the Institute’s continuous commitment to refining the quality of manpower available in the insurance industry.
Thank you for your attention and have a wonderful Workshop.
