PROTOCOLS
I have the utmost pleasure in welcoming you 43rd edition of the annual Education Seminar of our great Institute in the firm belief that it will be a rewarding experience for us as individuals and Insurance Practitioners.
I must reiterate that the rotation of hosting of the Seminar amongst the Chapters of the Institute commands immense significance, especially in conferring a high level of responsibility on the Chapters for ensuring the mass participation of members in their jurisdiction. The Port Harcourt Chapter, host of this year’s edition, hosted the seminar last in 2012 i.e. three years ago. The Governing Council acknowledges the painstaking efforts of the Chairman and Executive members of the Chapter in the provision of adequate support for a hitch- free Seminar.
The Seminar Theme: “SYNERGIZING BRANCH OPERATIONS AND INSURANCE AWARENESS” focuses on the roles of Branch Operations in the effective retailing of Insurance products and services for the purpose of meeting the Insurance needs of the teeming population in order to achieve the growth potentials of the Industry and enhancing the Gross Domestic Product of our nation.
The 2015 Seminar seeks to champion the repositioning of branch offices for prompt resolution of customer related issues to broaden the scope of public acceptance of Insurance. The Seminar also seeks to identify the growth potentials of the insurance industry through branch office machinery and other grassroots retail networks.
Let me therefore on behalf of the Governing Council thank the Guest Speaker, Mr. Edwin Igbiti and the Discussants for accepting to share their wealth of experience and for their invaluable time.
I must say that we are particularly grateful to the National Insurance Commission under the leadership of the Commissioner for Insurance, Alhaji Mohammed Kari for the continuous support given to the Institute in its endeavours and for accepting to deliver the keynote address at this gathering.
