On behalf of the Governing Board of the College of Insurance and Financial Management, I wish to welcome you to the 3rd graduation ceremony of College of Insurance and Financial Management. We are indeed grateful to God that the College continues to record a lot of successes and the completion of the third session of the Diploma Programme is indeed commendable.

I want to congratulate the Graduands for their tenacity in completing the Diploma Programme. I also congratulate the parents and guardians of our graduating students on this admirable achievement. It is our desire that you progress towards the completion of professional examinations and become Associates and Fellows of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria.

As you proceed into the insurance industry, I want to implore you to practice the profession with the high ethical standards that has been inculcated in you at the College. The Industry has zero tolerance for unethical behaviour and the CIIN is taking very serious steps in this regard. We implore you to conduct your affairs as worthy ambassadors of the College.

Ladies and gentlemen, on behalf of the Governing Board of the College, I wish to express our sincere gratitude to all individuals and organizations that have supported the College towards its academic and infrastructural development.

First to the Governing Council of the CIIN, we express our deep appreciation for the Institute’s support towards infrastructural development of the College. We are also indeed grateful to the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) for its recognition of the College as a certifying body for the industry. For example, the College is the institution approved to certify Bancassurance Officers in the industry under the Bancassurance Guideline of April 2017 released by NAICOM.

Similarly, various insurance companies and professionals have sponsored several projects on campus. This ceremony is being held in AIICO Hall situated in Custodian and Allied Building sponsored by AIICO Insurance Plc and Custodian and Allied Insurance Plc respectively. Other halls in this building include those sponsored by Nigerian Agricultural Insurance Corporation and Unitrust Insurance Plc. The graduation lunch would be hosted in the Sir Hassan Odukale Restaurant which was built and furnished by Leadway Assurance Ltd. Furthermore, our students reside in the Mutual Benefit Assurance Building, while our Chalets were sponsored by various individuals in the industry.

The College recently recovered the encroached portion of land on which which a multipurpose auditorium is being planned to enhance the facilities of the College.
Similarly, the College Sports Centre which includes a swimming pool, squash court, football field and a gym is one of the projects for which we require sponsorship. Our vision is to make the College of Insurance and Financial Management comparable with other insurance colleges globally. We therefore appeal to all within and outside the industry for sponsorship of all these projects so that we can have an institution we would all be proud of.

Ladies and gentlemen, it is my pleasure therefore to invite all guests to take a walk around the College facilities and take time to enjoy its beautiful and serene environment. While at it, we appeal that you consider leaving a legacy at the College that would last forever.

I thank you very much for your attention and I wish you journey mercies back to your various destinations.

God Bless you.

Mr Eddie Efekoha
Chairman Governing Board/ Deputy President CIIN.
