AIICO Pension Managers Limited, has announced the appointment of Dr. Ms. Adenike Fajemirokun, as a member of its Board of Directors.
A statement by the Head Strategic Planning and Corporate Communications, of the firm, Tunde Ottun, noted that Dr. Fajemirokun, who is the current Chief Risk officer of Dangote Group, is expected to bring to the Board her wealth of experience in the areas of developing and managing processes to identify, assess, monitor and reduce risks that could interfere with the achievement of the company’s goals and objectives.
She holds a BEng in Civil, Structural and Fire Engineering and a PhD in Risk Informed Engineering both from the University of Manchester, UK. She is also a Fellow of the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) and Specialist member (SIRM) of the Global Institute of Risk Management. Dr. Fajemirokun is a visiting Professor at the University of Manchester, UK.
Prior to specializing in the Risk Management field, she held positions in finance as a front office quantitative analyst at Goldman Sachs London and New York. She later spent 8 years in senior leadership roles across Deutsche Bank, AG UK, as Director and Global Head Operational Risk at the Corporate and Investment Bank.
Most recently, she founded and nurtured AFRisk Management Consultants Limited, overseeing international and local Risk Management activities for the firm. She had also served as the Head of Operational Risk for First Bank Nigeria Plc and was responsible for delivering the ERM frameworks for some of the country’s major institutions including Central Bank of Nigeria (2013), First Bank Nigeria (2009) and FBN Capital Limited (2012).
Her appointment has been duly approved by the National Pension Commission.
