The Director, Centre for Pension Right Advocacy, Takor Ivor, has said the release of N16.67 billion by federal government for payment of pension accrued rights is new year presents for 2021 retirees.
He told Inspenonline that that the release is an evidence that the Federal Government of Nigeria has keyed in fully into the Contributory Pension Scheme.
“The release is a beautiful New year presents to 2021 retirees and evidence that the FGN has keyed in fully into the Contributory Pension Scheme.
“I personally look forward to the first release for 2022 coming in at the end of March and subsequent once following every three months,” he said.
The National Pension Commission (PenCom) yesterday, said the Federal Government has released N16.67 billion for payment of accrued pension rights to 2021 retirees of Treasury-funded Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).
A state by the Head, Corporate Communications Department (PenCom) Peter Aghahowa, said the Federal Government had earlier settled all arrears of accrued pension rights payments to the verified and enrolled retirees up to December 2020.
