The Lagos State Pension Commission (LASPEC) has commenced the archiving of approval documents of retirees and bond certificates to forestall damages, its Director-General Mrs Folasade Onanuga, has said.
Mrs Onanuga, who disclosed this yesterday in Lagos, said the initiative is aimed at securing the vital documents against fire outbreak or any unforeseen circumstances, adding that the step will also ensure prompt payment of approved files.
She noted that Lagos State Government, through the pension commission and God’s grace has been up to the task of making the contributory pension scheme work perfectly.
She also advised, that the pension beneficiaries in the state should be wary of fraudsters and not accept any business proposal they don’t understand. “If you cannot think of any business at the moment, keep your money in fixed deposit accounts with banks,” she admonished.
