The National Pension Commission (PenCom) said it has engaged a consultant to design and develop a new enrolment application that would address the challenge of downtimes often observed during last minute rush by retirees and relevant stakeholders in a bit to meet enrolment deadline.

The Acting Director-General of PenCom Ms. Omolola Oloworaran, said this at the just concluded Workshop on the Online Enrolment Application for Pension Desk Officers (PDOs) of Federal Government of Nigeria Treasury-Funded Ministries Departments and Agencies (MDAs), September/October 2024 in Lagos.

She noted that the Commission is not oblivious of the challenges being experienced occasionally with the enrolment application due to downtimes, stressing that it is important to note that these downtimes mostly occur during the last minute rush by retirees and relevant stakeholders to meet the enrolment deadline.

She said while the Commission is committed to providing support to PDOs during those few periods of downtimes, she is particularly pleased to inform them that the Commission has already engaged a consultant to design and develop a new enrolment application that would not only address these issues, but also provide users with a more friendly and seamless experience during the enrolment process.

She stated that such an event is timely and crucial as it provides a platform for PenCom to reiterate its commitment to continuous service improvement in the pension industry so that contributors and retirees receive the best possible experience regarding pension matters. “It is also an occasion to interact with the stakeholders and discuss developments shaping Nigeria’s pension landscape,” she posited.

The PenCom boss assured that the Commission would continue to collaborate and work closely with the Pension Desk Officers towards a successful 2024 Online Enrolment Exercise, scheduled to commence on October 7, 2024 and subsequent periods.
