Pension Fund Administrators (PFAs) registered 21,053 Retirement Savings Account (RSA) holders in January 2021, the National Pension Commission (PenCom) has said.
PenCom state this in its unaudited report on pension funds industry portfolio for the period ended 31, January 2021.
According to PenCom, the RSA registration as at 31, December 2020 was 9, 215, 788, it moved to 9,236,841 as at 31, January 2021 a difference of 21, 053.
The report also revealed that the Pesion fund assets stood at N12.29 trillion in January and that most portfolios dropped in January compared to their positions in December 2020.
Federal Government securities which has the largest chunk of investment fell from N8.13 trillion in December to N8.12 trillion in January 2021. Bonds fell from N7.38 trillion to N7.33 trillion; Sukuk fell from N93.55 billion to N82.52 billion; green bonds, from N13.81 billion to N1022 billion.
State government securities deep from N136.58 billion to N133.52 billion; corporate debt securities, from N836.34 billion to N835.76 billion; bank placement, N1.53 trillion to N1.48 trillion; and mutual funds N161.68 billion to N65.19 billion.
