Lagos state Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has approved the appointment of Babalola Obilana as the Director-General of Lagos State Pension Commission (LASPEC) in recognition of his outstanding performance and accomplishments in the financial sector.

Obilana who takes over from Mrs. Folashade Onanuga becomes the 3rd Director General of Lagos State Pension Commission.

A statement by the Public Affairs Officer, Lagos State Pension Commission (LASPEC), Mrs. Adetokunbo Eko, stated that until his appointment, Obilana was the Executive Director, Business Development and service Stanbic IBTC Asset management.

An erudite scholar, he graduated from the University of Lagos with a BSC (Hons) in Actuarial Science.

He holds an MBA from the famous Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife, Osun State and is an alumnus of Lagos Business School for senior management programme (SMP).

His robust career spans over 28 years from different financial Institution such as ARM Pension managers where he was a pioneer staff responsible for business development.

As the new Director-General of the Commission, he has promise to bring his wealth of experience and knowledge to bear at the agency, this was disclosed in a meeting with top management of the agency in his office on Tuesday 9th of June 2020, he appreciated Governor, Babajide Sanwo-olu for giving him the opportunity to contribute his quota to the upliftment of Lagos State.

Obilana promised to build and improve on the accomplishments of his predecessor and sought for the cooperation of all and sundry most especially the staff of the Commission.

He is happily married with a son.
