Anchor Insurance launches loss of employment scheme product

Anchor Insurance Company Limited, in an epoch-making event, has officially launched its innovative and unique insurance product; Anchor Loss of Employment Insurance scheme, popularly refers to as AnchorLoEIS.

The Chairman, Board of Directors, Anchor Insurance Company Limited, Dr. Elijah Akpan, at the event in Lagos which attracted captain of industries, Bank Chiefs, co-operative unions, insurance practitioners, insurance brokers, employers of labour, employees and the insuring public, revealed that Anchor Insurance Company Insurance is well known for its innovation and creativity in providing tailored made insurance product to the yearnings of the insuring public.

He noted that in doing this, the firm has equally partnered and collaborate with some forward looking organisations to develop a uniquely and refreshingly brand new product for the company and Insurance industry.

“Today we have an important opportunity and a need to address a real kitchen table issue for families all across this country. We have an opportunity and a responsibility to innovate and create an insurance scheme to protect employees employment income and in doing so to provide a measure of financial stability to millions of Nigerians who may be laid off in the most difficult economic time. We have the opportunity and the responsibility as an organization to provide peace of mind to families who may be left in the ditch without a job and nowhere else to turn to,” he stated.

Delivering her opening remarks, the Chairperson of the occasion, Dr. Mrs. Nike Akande, CON and President, Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), informed the guests that “The Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry which I’m presiding has over the last couple of years collaborated with insurance sector to promote and advocate for the best policies and practice that would be beneficial to the insuring public and our economy at large.”

Speaking further, she explained that “Anchor loss of employment insurance scheme is a welcome development as it seeks to protect employees from unforseen circumstances especially as it relates to job losses. This initiative is commendable and will go a long way to provide succor and wide cover for employees that are vulnerable and also stabilize the economic wellbeing of employees and indeed the country.”

She enjoined the media to see to it that this product is given a wide coverage and reportage to ensure that nook and crannies of this great country Nigeria hear and is aware of this unique product. “This is your noble contributions to the economy of this country”, she submitted.

In his keynote address, Dr. Adebayo Musa Obalola, a Senior Lecturer, Actuarial Science and Insurance, University of Lagos, pointed out that Insurance cover is essential for everyone to have as it is a plan to cover an expected eventuality which at the end might not occur.

However, he pointed out most people always seek compensation for what their insurance does not cover and advised that the insuring public should seek to understand the terms and conditions of their insurance policy.

Managing Director of the company, Mayowa Adeduro, promised that company will continue to introduce more unique insurance products with outstanding benefits like AnchorLoEIS to the acceptance of the insuring public.

He expressed his gratitude to the Company’s Board of Directors, the Management and staff for their support, services and encouragement towards development, introduction and launch of AnchorLoEIS.

He also thanked the esteemed and loyal clients of the company, its technical partners and the insuring public for taking the AnchorLoEIS cover.
