Guild of Marine Surveyors eulogies Ogadina at maiden annual memorial lecture

Participants at the Guild of Marine Surveyors’ maiden annual memorial lecture, held in honour of its first elected President, Monday Chidi Ogadina, have called on leaders to esteem good examples and selfless services so as to make the world a better place for mankind.

They made the call at the event which held on Friday, June 17, 2022 at the Emmanuel Unachukwu hall, Yaba College of Technology.

The President of the Guild, Deacon Wale Adetoro, appreciated the attendees and called for support for the Guild, while paying tribute to the memory of the departed past president.

Senior Manager Technical, Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA) Soji Oni, who represented the Director General of the association Mrs. Yetunde Ilori, implored members of the guild to uphold professionalism and sustain the legacy left by the late President.

Raphael Falokun, in a paper entitled: ‘Developments in the Maritime, Insurance and Surveying Industries’ implored members of the Guild to harness the opportunities in their field of endeavour.

The discussion session was moderated by Ralph Opara, past President Institute of Loss Adjuster (ILAN).

Paper discussants were, Adeniran Aderinoye of AIICO Insurance, Uchenna Duaka of Marine Hull Inspections and Mrs. Florence Oladimeji.

Goodwill messages were given by Deacon Tom Ogboi and Mrs. Felicia Mustapha.

Mrs. Nancy Ogadina, the guest of honour, was represented at the event by Mrs. Julianah Abioro Lucky-Ekiokere, the General Manager of Seaguard International Services.

The event was anchored by Dr. Wilson Arikpo of Seagate Global Services Limited.

The Guild of Marine Surveyors is the umbrella body for Marine cargo surveyors, superintendents and Marine practitioners in Nigeria.
