The Association of Registered Insurance Agents of Nigeria (ARIAN) has said it will launch an initiative tagged: ARIAN Black Book by first quarter of 2016 to stem the menace of unethical practices by some members.

Its President Olamerun Gbadebo, disclosed this yesterday at the association’s 2015 conference in Lagos, stressing that when the initiative becomes active, names of agents found guilty will be sent to underwriters and recruiting firms to blacklist them.

“In our quest to eradicate sharp practices embarked on by some unprofessional agents, the association comes first quarter 2016, God willing we shall launch a new initiative tagged: ARIAN Black Book.

“This initiative is to reduce unethical practices by some insurance agents by creating a platform and a dossier of any agent found guilty of any sharp practices to all the underwriters and prospective recruiting houses,” he said.

He also maintained that the association will in 2016 consolidate on the work already initiated, which are poised at moving it to lofty heights.

Gbadebo called on the public to join the agency trade, stressing that the association is working assiduously to raise its membership to 20,000 by 2020.
