Event organizers Global Media Alliance (GMA) has secured an insurance cover for this year’s African Legends Night slated for September 26, 2015 at the State House Banquet Hall, Accra.
GMA announced that insurance firm Phoenix Insurance, a subsidiary of the CDH Group, is the official insurance company for the much-anticipated event.
“This insurance covers artistes, audience at the event, logistics and other essential elements for the event. As event organisers it is appropriate to insure the African Legends Night which is our flagship entertainment event,” said Edwin Amankwah, Director of GMA.
Mr Amankwah thanked Phoenix Insurance for supporting the event and the entertainment industry.
Other companies namely Stanbic Bank and Vodafone Ghana have also thrown their weight behind this year’s concert.
Both companies over the years have shown commitments in supporting the entertainment industry in the country. Vodafone has over the years been organizing “ICONS”, an event where it unearths young creative music talents while Stanbic Bank recently held a successful Jazz Festival bringing Grammy Award-Nominee and jazz singer Earl Klugh to Ghana.
The African Legends Night is now a brand that lives in the hearts and on the minds of many who believe in the rich culture and heritage of African music.
Ivorian megastar and King of Zoblazo, Freddy Meiway, will be headlining the concert which also features an incredible lineup of homegrown veteran highlife artistes including Amakye Dede, Gyedu-Blay Ambulley, Akosua Adjapong and Trigmatic.
Over the past five years, African Legends Night has celebrated musical icons from the continent and carved an event niche catered to the middle-aged and the young who have a soft spot for local African music.
Notable performers have included South Africa’s legend and first headliner of the concert, Hugh Masekela, Femi Kuti, Ghanaian ace Saxophonist Steve Bedi, Ben Brako, among others and a blend of artistes across Africa.
Every year, African Legends Night houses and entertains 1,000s of fans with soothing, exciting, danceable African tunes. It is destined to be a night full of glamour.
