Association of Registered Insurance Agents of Nigeria (ARIAN) has partnered Insurfeel Initiative to donate Uni-personal insurance covers worth N12 million to five uninsured spectators at the 2024 ARIAN football tournament, kicking off tomorrow Saturday, May 4, at Armed Forces Resettlement Centre, Charity, Oshodi, Lagos.
The National President of ARIAN Kazeem Odewunmi; who disclosed this to journalists, noted that the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) gesture was aimed at helping the uninsured mitigate their risks, even as they are thrilled to good football displays.
He submitted that the partnership with Insurfeel Initiative, an organisation promoting donation of insurance covers to the uninsured, is one of the measures the association uses in giving back to the society.
He reiterated that the winning team of the tournament would be awarded N500,000 and other prizes.
Odewunmi said nine team drawn from insurance companies would be participating in the tournament, adding that the team that emerged second, would be awarded N300,000 and the third position N200,000.
He said this year’s tournament, which is the third edition, is expected to help create more awareness on insurance and also bring insurance practitioners together and making them fit in carrying out their operations.
He implored the public to come and watch the talented sportsmen display their talents, whilst calling on local and international football coaches to come and harness potentials at the event.
The Public Relation Officer of ARIAN, Kayode Ogunwuyi, said the tournament is part of the association’s contributions to sport development and promotion of peace in the country, stressing that sport, especially football has remained a unifying factor in Nigeria.
He assured the public of adequate security, stressing that the association has put in place every necessary measure to ensure spectators are well secured.
He further appreciated companies that have continued to support the tournament, whilst craving more supports.
Promoter of Insurfeel Initiative Chuks Udo Okonta, said his organisation is delighted to partner ARIAN on the project, stating that Insurfeel Initiative would continue to partner reputable organisations within insurance sector and outside to mitigate risks and reduce poverty through donation of insurance to the uninsured.
He maintained that it is cheaper to donate insurance than contribute money for people who suffer mishaps.
Okonta implored good spirited members of the public to partner Insurfeel Initiative in its bid to donate one million free insurance policies to the uninsured before the end of year 2025.

About Insurfeel Initiative
Insurfeel is an initiative that enables the uninformed and uninsured to experience impacts of insurance by receiving insurance policies for free through donations by individuals; groups; associations; organisations and government.
*Insurfeel Initiative entails donation of insurance policies to the uninsured, uninformed and evolved from a research conducted which showed that people who have had positive experience on how insurance works seem to believe and easily embraced the system.
This research, therefore, necessitates the need to extend insurance experience through donation of policies to more people so as to deepen insurance penetration, provide safety; fight poverty, and enhance the insurance industry’s profitability.
*Insurfeel is targeted towards specific individuals, such as students in secondary schools, teachers, and people with distinct impact on lives and the society. They are selected due to their outstanding performance and contributions to human growth.
*Insurfeel initiative is opened to people committed to philanthropy. Through Insurfeel, organisations can by means of Corporate Social Responsibility (CRS) donate insurance policies as souvenirs and gifts to deserving members of the public.
*Insurfeel Initiative provides a platform for insurance companies to donate their products as against the present trend where products from other sectors are donated to the public.
This will grow the industry’s premium whilst helping humanity.
