The President, Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN) Sir. (Dr.) Muftau Oyegunle, has applauded the institute’s Chief Examiners for their loyality, selflessness and commitments which has helped earned its status and reputation.
He said this today at the 2022 Chief Examiners Workshop in Lagos, adding that the programme was put together by the insitute to keep in focus the major objectives of the institute regarding the examinations which are, the quality and integrity of examinations, which must never be compromised, the content, presentation and adequacy of syllabus must be current and forward looking and keep the examinations relevant, impactful and meeting the need of the Industry by getting relevant feedback from examiners.
“We are here therefore to ensure we are all in agreement with the demands of the Institute and the needs of our examiners so as to build the environment that will guarantee the sustained success and importance of the Institute’s professional examinations.
“Let me sincerely appreciate and thank our Chief Examiners for their loyality, selflessness and commitment to the goals of CIIN on our professional examination. Your commitment earned us the status and reputation we enjoy today. Thank you all.
“This year’s edition of the Workshop is themed ‘Effective Question Setting- Challenges and Way Forward’ and it will be anchored by a seasoned speaker; Dr.Sunday Aduloju. I am upbeat we will garner and learn much from his wealth of knowledge and experience and subsequently put such knowledge into practice,” he said.

He reiterated that one of the goals of the programme is to provide and equip professionals with knowledge that is in tune with the realities and demands of the modern-day insurance practice.
“To this end, I urge you all to update your knowledge in line with the new syllabus to ensure that we do not fall below already set standards,” he add.
He submitted that looking at the success the programme has garnered over the years, he would like to appreciate the efforts of the Institute’s Secretariat and the Chairman of the Examination Committee, Past President, Venerable Ladipo Ajayi as well as members of the Committee for the sterling work, they have done through the years.
The Institute’s examinations, he said remains a source of pride in the insurance industry in Nigeria and beyond, stressing that it is the institute’s duty to ensure that its values never waiver and its offerings do not fall below the standards that we have set.
“I equally want to use this opportunity to specially recognise and appreciate all our examiners who have been with us throughout the years and have stayed diligently committed to ensuring that our examinations retain the transparency and legitimacy that it currently has,” he said.
He reminded the examiners that they are all custodians of the insurance industry and that their actions greatly determine the nature and quality of insurance practitioners that will pilot the affairs of the insurance industry, whilst appealing to them not to compromise on standards.
