The recently appointed Commissioner for Insurance Olusegun Omosehin and his team – Deputy Commissioner, Technical Ekerete Ola Gam-Ikon and Deputy Commissioner Finance Dr. Usman Jankara have resumed duty at the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) today Friday, May 3, 2024.
President Bola Tinubu had on Friday, April 19, 2024, appointed Olusegun Ayo Omosehin as Commissioner for Insurance/Chief Executive Officer National Insurance Commission (NAICOM)
President Tinubu also approved the appointment of
Ms. Halima Kyari — Chairperson of the Commission.
Olusegun Ayo Omosehin, was name Commissioner for Insurance; Olawoye Gam-Ikon – Deputy Commissioner (Technical Operations); Dr. Usman Jankara Jimada — Deputy Commissioner (Finance & Administration);
Dr. Miriam Kene Kachikwu — Member; Adeniyi Olusegun Fabikun — Member and Umar Khalifa Mohammed — Member

He said the President expects the new Board of the National Insurance Commission to exercise utmost probity as it leads the commission in ensuring a safe, sound, and stable insurance sector, while protecting policyholders, the public interest, and improving trust and confidence in the sector.
Dr. Usman Jankara Jimada, in a remark after receiving his official letter of appointment yesterday in Abuja, said: “Earlier today, I received with immense gratitude the official letter appointing me the Deputy Commissioner of the National Insurance Commission. I am deeply humbled that His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, considered me worthy of this position and graciously approved my appointment. Alhamdulillah.
“I wish to respectfully express my deepest appreciation to His Excellency for entrusting me with this significant role. It is indeed a rare privilege and a great responsibility that I do not take lightly. I am genuinely thankful for the faith and confidence that His Excellency has placed in me.
“To the selfless patriots and benefactors who nominated me, even without my knowledge, I am profoundly grateful. Your unwavering belief in me is truly humbling and inspiring to others. It is a testament that dedication, honesty, and principles are recognized and valued in Nigeria.
