FBA Mentoring Programme, a Funmi Babington-Ashaye Foundation empowerment series has graduated a new set of mentees, challenging them to imbibe good character as critical for successful in leadership and career progression.
According to foundation, whether it is in leadership, professional endeavours, community engagement, or personal relationships, the strength of character will always be a defining factor.
Lola Adeleye, President of FBA Foundation speaking at the Co-hort 2 graduation ceremony of the foundation said character it’s the invisible thread woven into the fabric of your being, influencing how you navigate challenges, embrace opportunities, and ultimately shape the legacy you leave behind.”
While expressing immense pride and excitement for the bright futures that await each graduate, she them saying, “as you step into the next chapter of your lives, remember that your character will be the bedrock upon which you build your success.”
“As you move forward, I urge you to nurture and prioritize your character. In the face of challenges, let your integrity be unwavering. When confronted with choices, let your moral compass guide you.”
“The FBA Mentoring Program Adeleye noted is not just an educational experience; it’s a platform for the development of exceptional individuals poised to impact the world positively. I have full confidence that each of you will go on to achieve remarkable things, not only for yourselves but for the betterment of society.”
Dr. Funmi Babington-Ashaye, Founder of the foundation said the mentoring programme has grown since it started four years ago, and now is having around 80 strong alumni members.
She said the main idea behind starting this mentoring program is giving back to the society, stating that it is geared towards each person to learn from those who came before them, gaining wisdom and experience.
Bukola Smith, managing director/CEO, FSDH Africa who was the keynote Speaker at the ceremony on the theme: ‘Journey to C-Suit and Personal Legacy challenged the Co-hort 2 graduates to imbibe the culture of determination, resilience and strategic planning in their career.
Smith also urged them to build relationships with key stakeholders in their chosen fields, pointing that they need them to overcome challenges in their journey and this is critical to growth.
While encouraging them to learn and invest in knowledge acquisition, she said “Be a subject matter expert in your field, do not stop learning, and invest in yourself”.
Encouraging the graduates to live the life of transparency, integrity and accountability, she said these were basic quality for sustainable legacy.
