Guild of Marine Surveyors holds 3rd Ogadina annual memorial lecture on August 29

The Guild of Marine Surveyors has said it would hold the 3rd Monday Ogadina annual memorial lecture on Thursday, August 29, 2024 in Lagos.

According to President of the Guild Wale Adetoro, the event would hold at NERDC Conference Centre/Guest House, Plot 3 $ 4 Block B, Central Business District, NERDC Road, Beside Fela Shrine, Alausa/Agidingbi, Lagos.

He submitted that the Managing Director/CEO MAG Claims Recoveries Julian Sobowale, is the event’s Guest Speaker and would present the main paper entitled: ‘The Blue Economy – Potentials for the Maritime $ Insurance Industry’ while the second paper entitled: ‘Safety in Our Waterways’ would be presented by Managing Director/CEO Seagate Global Services Limited Dr. Wilson Arikpo.

Adetoro, said the intention of the lecture series, is to uphold the legacy of Monday Ogadina’s contributions and outstanding support to the existence of the Guild of Marine Surveyors, adding that Ogadina stood for excellence and perfection which he tried to incorporate into all members of the Guild before his time was up.

Ogadina passed on Friday, June 11, 2021 and was the Founder and First Elected President of the Guild.

Ogadina, was born January 1, 1964 and was a Fellow of Guild of Marine Surveyors (FGMS) and Regional President of International Institute of Marine Surveyors (IIMS), London.

Before his demise, he was the Managing Director, Seaguard international services Limited.
