Insurance could be said to be one of the pillars that held the early Christians together and helped managed their risks and stemmed poverty among them.

According to the following Bible verses; Acts 4:32: And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.

Acts 4:34: Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold

Acts 4:35: And laid them down at the apostles’ feet: and distribution was made to every man according as he had need.

It could be deduced that the principle of insurance stemmed from activities of the early Christians, as it is written that … distribution was made to every man according as he had need, which is receiving claims according to the risk each suffered.

Why christians should buy insurance.

* Insurance encourages pooling of income to mitigate risks.

This was exactly what the early Christians did to mitigate risks and avert poverty.

* Funds are managed by experts.

Then funds are left at the apostles’ feet, in this case, pooled funds are managed and distributed by insurance professionals to mitigate risks.

* Claims are paid according to needs.

… distribution was made to every man according as he had need. Policyholders who suffer risks got claims according to their losses.

God our creator does not want us to suffer, hence He made ways for escape, for which insurance remains one of the ways to escape from risk and losses.

Be wise, buy insurance today.
