Underwriting practitioners today stepped out in grand style to exercise and educate the public on how to leverage insurance to effectively plan their lives, finances, future amongst others.

The excited practitioners brought together by the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN) through its annual flagship event – Fitness Walk, first gathered at the premises of Guinea insurance Plc, located at Jibowu Lagos, where an instructor helped them exercised them bodies and later they had a procession along Ikorodu road and educated the public on the enormous benefits from the array of products they offer.

They made the premises of NEM Insurance Plc located at Obanikoro, Ikorodu Road Lagos, their final destination. There, their leaders addressed them and they also organised dancing competition, which was won by a member of staff of Universal Insurance Plc.

For the practitioners, the 2022 CIIN Fitness Walk, was unique because helped to unite them again having failed to observed the event in 2020 and 2021 due to COVID-19.

President, Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria, Sir. (Dr.) Muftau Oyegunle, implored the practitioners to regularly keep fit to enable themi carry out their responsibility to clients smartly.

He stressed that due to uncertainties across the globe, business operators, now must have quality thinking that would engender quality output.

He maintained that the CIIN remains committed to awareness creation and deepening Insurance penetration in the country.

Oyegunle applauded the practitioners for turning up in their numbers and urged them to sustain the spirit on oneness brought about by the event.

President, Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (NCRIB) Rotimi Edu, submitted that awareness creation and deepening Insurance penetration remain a major focus of all the arms of the industry.

Smart

President, African Insurance Organisation (AIO) Tope Smart, lauded the leadership of CIIN for sustaining the fitness walk and awareness campaign, stating that the industry needs to esteem the campaign to enable the public understand and embrace insurance culture.
