The President Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN) Edwin Igbiti, has asked prayers for a seamless transition of presidency in the Institute as the 52nd President will be invested in July.
He stated this at the 2024 Ramadan Tafsir yesterday in Lagos, adding that he has no doubt in the prayers made by practitioners at such religious gathering.
Igbiti submitted that the institute’s Ramadan Tafsir, is a great call on all Muslim faithful for sober reflection on the teachings of Almighty Allah through Prophet Muhammed (S.A.W) Who is the sustainer and nourisher of the universe.
He said this year’s Ramadan lecture was aimed to raise professionals, who are required to display dedication, loyalty in their followership and professionalism both in the nation and in the workplace, adding that it is on that note that the topic ‘RAMADAN: An Epitome of Spiritual Upliftment, Self-Discipline & Interpersonal Relationship’ was arrived at.
The lecture, he said is expected to bring to fore the role of spiritual and interpersonal relationship in building a better society, bearing in mind the societal issues and challenges confronting Muslims today across the globe, be it terrorism assault, stereotype and bigotry.
“I like to remind us that we are in a season when we reflect upon the wisdom and guidance that comes with the Islam faith, and the responsibility that we have to one another and to God.
“It is also a time of intense devotion to ALLAH. “With these reasons, I urge us all here today to continue to use the Holy Month of Ramadhan to stay close to Allah by seeking for forgiveness of our sins, praying for our Country, family and humanity in general,” he said.
He appreciated the Erudite Guest Lecturer, Dr. Tajudeen Adebayo, Chief Imam, Falomo Police Station Mosque and Voice of Nigeria to this Tafsir.
Igbiti said it is on a sad note to state that our brotherhood as fellow human beings are divided, our Governments are divided, our lands are partitioned and separated by artificially created religious/ethnic/financial borders.
He said to achieve a better and secured nation, individuals as patriotic citizens and followers should embrace the Islamic injunction of UNITY; be our brother’s keeper in all doings and practice the faith with all sincerity and soberness.
“It is pertinent to note at this juncture that I am already heading towards the twilight of my Presidency in the Institute, and this will be my last Tafsir as the President of our foremost Insurance Institute,” he said
He thanked the CIIN Secretariat for the unwavering support, understanding and cooperation he received from them throughout the period of his service to to the great institute,
