Fellows in the insurance industry have decried the exclusion of consolidated insurance bill amongst the 15 passed to President Muhammadu Buhari for an assent before leaving office.

Chairman of Session, Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN) Year 2023 Fellows’ Event, Dan Okehi, said this today in Lagos, whilst calling on Fellows in the insurance industry to arise to their responsibilities as it is their obligations to collaborate with National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) in ensuring that the bill becomes an Act.

He charged insurance practitioners to take urgent actions to ensure the bill is presented to the president for assent before he leaves office.

Okehi noted that Fellows should note that the burden of growth and development of the sector rest on their shoulders as the industry’s policy makers.

He also charged the Fellows to regularly meet and proffer solutions to challenges clogging the industry’s growth.

He implored the Fellows to form a think-tank that should be reviewing issues in the industry and chart a way forward.

He implored all insurance practitioners to come together and push for the signing of the bill in law.
