Determined to achieve the one million insurance empowered scheme for Nigerian youths, the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) has implored insurance practitioners to take advantage of the network in their recruitment exercise.
The Commissioner for Insurance and Chief Executive Officer NAICOM Olusegun Omosehin, said this at the 16th Meeting of the Insurers’ Committee in Lagos, adding the the program would help enhance insurance awareness and provide sound insurance education for the youths.
He told the insurance executives that Sapphital Learning Limited in a partnership with Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN) have been saddled with duties such as; developing the training modules; providing human resources to take different modules; (these will be picked from seasoned professionals in the industry) and issuing of certificate of participation to the one million youths.
The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer Sapphital Learning Limited Amu Ogbeide, at the event presented a paper entitled: ‘Insurance: A Platform for Engaging With a Million Nigerian Youths’.
He noted that the training program would help transform insurance practice, whilst craving full support from insurance practitioners.
Inspenonline gathered that the CIIN is currently engaging seasoned personnel in the insurance industry for the training, as the knowledge to be provided would give a footing towards future inclusion in the insurance Industry.
The programme which is expected to commence very soon, is expected to expose Nigerian youths to the insurance profession and create insurance awareness, participants are being tutored through the modules designed by the Institute for efficient understanding of the discipline.
The National Insurance Commission and the Ministry of Youth Development on Friday October 4, 2024 signed a Memorandum of Understanding to train one million youths in the country in conjunction with the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria and Sapphital Learning Limited.
