The Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (NCRIB) has thrown its weight behind the 47th Annual African Insurance Organisation (AIO) Conference and General Assembly which is billed for September 4 – 8, 2021 in Lagos.
The President of NCRIB, Dr. (Mrs.) Bola Onigbogi, at a programme organised by the council, implored brokers to take advantage of the proximity to attend the conference.
“I like to encourage distinguished members to take advantage of the proximity to attend the Conference.
“The highlight of the event will be the installation of Tope Smart, immediate past Chairman of Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA) as the President of the Organisation,” she submitted.
According to the organisers of the event which is coming to Nigeria after 20 years, the conference will be attended by 48 member countries of AIO and 10 non African countries.
The organisers noted that they want to use the event to make people who will be attending the event, to see that Nigeria is a peaceful country as against their negative perceptions about the country.
They said President Muhammadu Buhari, the Minister of Finance, Mrs. Zainab Ahmed, the Commissioner for Insurance and Chief Executive Officer of the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM), Olorundare Sunday Thomas, including other key stakeholders in the Nigerian economy are expected to be at the AIO event.
