The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) has accused school proprietors for not insuring the vehicles used in conveying pupils to schools.
Its Public Relations Officer, Paul Abiti, who said this at a forum in Lagos, noted that the Commission had discovered that may school buses do not have insurance certificates. And wondered while school proprietors should engaged in such act.
He posited that the Commission has resolved to henceforth, clampdown any vehicle without insurance.
He said FRSC regulation on school buses requires that they have comprehensive insurance. He called on the Nigeria Insurers Association (NIA) to engage the schools by enlightening them to hasten compliance.
He also urged insurance practitioner to reach out to those who patronise fake insurance racketeers, by taking their operations closed to the people.
