Nnamdi Duru, a Senior Manager in National Pension Commission (PenCom) has won the maiden THISDAY Alumni Association’s Most Assertive Award.
The award was presented to him and other recipients on December 14, 2024 at an event to mark 30 years of robust Journalism by THISDAY Newspaper.
The colourful event was attended by the management; staff and alumni of the Newspaper.
Duru holds a B.Sc. in Banking & Finance and MBA in Management. He is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (AIIN) and an Author.
Before joining PenCom, he was Insurance Correspondent of THIS DAY Newspaper from 1999 to 2014. Prior to that he worked for Maldesa Foods between 1995 and 1999.
While working for THISDAY Newspaper, he pioneered the Taxation and Pension pages for the Newspaper, the first in Nigeria.
He was at different times, Secretary General of Labour Writers Association of Nigeria (LAWAN), two time Secretary of the National Association of Insurance and Pension Correspondents (NAIPCO) and President of NAIPCO.
