We’ve not seen our son, please help – Mrs. Theresa Yinusa

Ademola

By Edet Udoh

The family of Mr. Lekan Yinusa has been thrown into weeping and confusion following the missing of their 17 years old son, Ademola.

Ademola who is awaiting his Joint Admission and Matriculation Board Examination (JAMB) result left his residential home at No. 39A, Gbemi Abeokuta, Ijegun in Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State on Monday (9/01/17) afternoon to unknown destination.

Speaking with the AUTHORITY in their residence amidst tears and wailing, Ademola’s mother, Mrs. Theresa Yinusa, said in the morning of that fateful day, he (Ademola) had taken food to his sisters at a nearby school before his defection.

“That Monday morning, I asked him to take food to his sisters at First Zion Schools off Ijagemo Road, He went, came back and gave me feedback. But when he left home and the manner he left is what is confusing me. He never told me anything.

He went away with his football training kits and his telephone charger. Even the money that was under his custody, I saw it in the pocket of his trousers,” Mrs. Yinusa lamented.

When asked whether Ademola keeps bad friends, the mother said no. “He is a very quite type. You hardly see him playing with people anyhow as other children do. This is two years since we relocated to this area from Akokomaiko and I have even been encouraging him to make friends with people. His only few friends I know of are his team mates,” she added.

According to her, I have spoken with his team mates whether there was any football match somewhere and they all told me none. I have also spoken with his coach and he said he has no knowledge of his where about. What baffles me is that for some months now he has not been going for training because we want him to gain admission into the tertiary institution. We don’t want football to be a distraction to him. But Ademola is so passionate about football.”

Ademola was a team member of Covenant Football Team, Ijegun, Lagos.

In a telephone interview with AUTHORITY, the Coach of the team who gave his name simply as Mr. Alfred, said although Mr. Ademola was one of the players of the team, he was last seen since April, 2016. “Ademola came to training last since April 2016 but we used to see each other when I went to their shop to buy frozen foods and he never confided in me of his plans. I’m so surprised about the whole thing when the mother called to inform me,” the coach said.

Mr. Lekan Yinusa, Ademola’s father while speaking with the AUTHORITY on what has been done so far, said, “Since Monday, we have being in contact with all our relatives and close family friends to find out if they have seen him or know his where about and up till today (Thursday), nobody has given us a positive answer.

“Apart from reporting the matter to the Police at the Isheri Police Station on Tuesday (10/01/17), we have also reported it to the Oba of Ijegun, Oba Nureni Olomitutu and they have all promised us their cooperation.

When our Correspondent tried Ademola’s GSM number (0705701333), the number was not responding.

Ademola, a former student of Hopebay College, Akoko, is six feet tall, light complexioned and a native of Ogun State.

Mr and Mrs. Yinusa are appealing to the general public with information on the where about of the above named, to please report to the nearest police station or call these numbers08068058893 and 08165873193.
