Lagos State pays N1.55bn to 287 retirees

The government of Lagos State under the leadership of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has disbursed N1,559,662,536.4 into Retirement Savings Account (RSA) of 287 retirees.

A statement by the Public Affairs Officer, Lagos State Pension Commission (LASPEC), Mrs. Adetokunbo Eko, stated that the Director-General of Lagos State Pension Commission (LASPEC) Mrs. Folashade Onanuga, disclosed this today at the 67th retirement bond presentation ceremony in Lagos, adding that the State Government has consistently been funding the accrued pension rights without which retirees will not be able to have access to the balance in the retirement savings account.

She also implore the retirees to go for regular medical checkup to maintain their mental and physical wellbeing at all times. They were advised to spend their pension judiciously and not embarking on any business that will be stressful to their health.

The retirees prayed and show appreciation to the government for the consistency in payment of their terminal benefits.

The workforce of Lagos State Pension Commission was also applauded for the transparent and organized way they perform their duties.
