The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) Ilupeju/Gbagada District Society (IGDS) is proud to announce the successful Investiture of Dr. (Mrs.) Titilayo Eni-Itan Fowokan, FCA as the 5th Chairman and notably, the 1st Female Chairman of the District Society.
This landmark event was held on Monday, June 9, 2025, at the prestigious LTV 8 Marquee, Ikeja, Lagos.
The ceremony, which was chaired by the 61st President of ICAN, Mallam Haruna N. Yahaya, mni, Ph. D., FCA ably represented by Chief Ezekiel Anagha, FCA(IGDS District Co-ordinator), was graced by a distinguished array of dignitaries, industry leaders, professional colleagues, family, and well-wishers which include her Beloved Husband, Engineer Adedeji Fowokan, a Revered Past President of ICAN, Amb. (Dr.) Comfort Olu Eyitayo, mni, FCA, the 17th President of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria Mr. Innocent Ohagwa, FCA, FCTI, , Immediate Past President of CITN, Mr. Samuel Agbeluyi, mni, FCTI, ICAN Registrar/Chief Executive who was represented by Mr. Shehu Gbadamosi, FCA, eminent ICAN Council members such as IGDS Founding Pillar, Otunba Tobi Abiola,Ph.D,FCA who joined virtually, Dr. Olugbenga Omidiji, FCA (IGDS Pioneer Chairman) , Dr. Oluseyi Olanrewaju, FCA, Mrs. Olufunmilayo Olaniyi, ACA amongst other dignitaries who gathered to celebrate this historic moment. Their presence added color and honor to an already remarkable occasion.
Dr. Titilayo Fowokan’s investiture marks a significant milestone not only in the history of the Ilupeju/Gbagada District but also in the wider ICAN community, as it reflects the growing recognition of excellence, diversity, and capable leadership within the profession. Her unwavering commitment to professional excellence, ethical standards, and service has been consistently demonstrated throughout her illustrious career.
We are confident that under Dr. Titilayo Fowokan’s leadership, the District Society will experience notable advancement.
Her tenure promises to be one of innovation, inclusive growth, and strengthened member engagement. With her vision and passion, we are assured of progressive contributions to the Institute’s agenda within our jurisdiction and beyond.
The participants also witnessed the swearing-in of the new Executive committee members and the handing over of Dr. Samuel Taiwo Abey, FCA who gave account of his sterling performance as the Chairman of the District for 2024/2025.
Notable among his achievement is the birthing of three brand new District Societies during his tenure all of which were approved by the ICAN Council. More than twenty candidates were given full sponsorship for the ICAN Professional Examination with seven candidates qualifying as a Chartered Accountants during his tenure, amongst others.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Titilayo Eni-Itan Fowokan, FCA, and the new executive committee members. We look forward to a tenure defined by impactful service and transformational leadership.
Honestly, its a new wave of revival in ICAN Ilupeju/Gbagada District Society (The Model District) and the best time to join the train is now.
