President Buhari’s body language not enough for economic growth – LCCI

The Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to urgently unveil his policy direction as his alleged body language is not enough to engender economic growth.

The Director-General LCCI Muda Yusuf, who said this while delivering a speech entitled : Job Creation Through Entrepreneurship Empowerment at the 2015 Commerce and Industry Correspondents Association of Nigeria (CICAN) Gala NIte/Award in Lagos, urged the federal government to urgently revamp the economy and create favourable environment the would engender job creation, adding that most investors especially foreigners are waiting for policy direction from the president to enable them make investment decisions.

He commended the president on his fight against corruption, but added that that that step alone can not salvage the economy.

He said entrepreneurs need electricity to power their firms before they can create jobs, stressing that the jobs promised by the present administration can only be achieved through the private sector.

Yusuf also called for favourable policies, adding that some government policies being implemented have led to job loses as against the pledge to create more jobs.

He urged the media to always engage in constructive criticism, stressing that the government has to be placed on its toes to enable it meets public expectations.
