I am happy to be identified with the African Association of Young Insurance Professionals on their first African Day Celebration. The association informed me of the pivotal role of the Group Managing Director of Africa Re and lead support of Munich Re and Nem Insurance of Nigeria. And to all other support not mentioned in my brief address, I have been asked to thank and appreciate you all, immensely.
I have examined your membership and noted with excitement that it contains the brightest professional minds we can showcase as a continent.
I have also noted the Association’s vision and mission statement, eloquently stated, but of special interest to me is your CORE VALUES containing elements such as Professional, Innovation, Creativity, Integrity, Leadership and Integration.
Strength
I am particularly thrilled by the academic pedigree of your members, which has conferred a huge advantage on you, in addition to information technology which now propel the bulk of our business activities.
Challenge
With the above advantages, it is incumbent on your members to make a creative difference in your Professional Career.
Future Outlook
I strongly recommend that you choose and select areas of specialisation in the ever widening Insurance underwriting sphere, which will be an imperative for advancement of the industry. These areas include: Financial lines such as Cyber risks, BBB.Others include PVT, Drone Insurance, energy and aviation, marine, specialised engineering risks, survey, satellite insurance.
Conclusion
I look forward to some of you becoming specialists in the above areas, thereby carving a distinctive and distinguished identity for yourselves.
