Following the directive given by President Bola Tinubu, to the National Pension Commission (PenCom) to urgently resolve the longstanding Police pension issue, emphasising that members of the Police Force who serve and protect the nation deserve to retire with dignity and peace of mind, PenCom Director-General
Ms. Omolola Oloworaran, has held a meeting with the aggrieved retired Police Officers.
Inspenonline gathered that at the meeting the aggrieved retired Police Officers position was presented by CP Henry Njoku Esq Rtd.
This medium learnt that after the Officers presentation, PenCom DG Ms Omolola Oloworaran, informed them of steps taking to address their misgivings, of which some are allowing retired Police Officers have 200 per çent of their salaries as gratuity to be added to their lumpsum; Officers that have served more than 20 years and above to have 75 per cent to 100 per cent of their last salary as monthly pension to be negotiated on current salary structure.
At the end of the meeting, there was no compromise and the parties agreed to have a two-week period for PenCom to negotiate with relevant stakeholders in government.
