African Alliance annuitants take seven months unpaid benefits to federal government

Annuitants with African Alliance Insurance Plc have taken their seven months unpaid pension benefits plight to the federal government.
They have called on President Bola Tinubu, to intervene and ensure their matter is addressed to enable them live comfortably in retirement.
The annuitants who have form cluster groups are pushing their issue leveraging their contacts.
One of the annuitants told Inspenonline that life has not being easy for them, as they have been without any source of income for seven months, stating that some of their colleagues have died while awaiting the benefits.
He implored the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) to use its regulatory power to assist them.
He also suggested that to stem similar occurrence in the future, the government should set up a body like Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) to manage affairs of policyholders of failed insurance companies.
I am an annuitant with African Alliance insurance company. Taking the plea to the government to intervene is a good move. I join my colleagues in calling on.the federal government to intervene in the case of African Alliance Insurance company.
Also, government should create an agency similar to Nigeria Deposit Insurance that will take care of insurance issues in the event of default to pay policy holders of insurance companies.
Meanwhile, NAICOM should wake up from its sleep. It does not appear to monitor and supervise the operations of the insurance companies. If they are what had happened and is happening in African Alliance insurance should had been nib in bud before it became bad.
The African Alliance Insurance company is owing me, as at today 17th August 2025 a total of nine (9) months arrears of my annuity premium: December 2024 to August 2025.
I pray that this company kindly get me out of the confusion of living without this monthly financial resource, which I bargained for. Please, Please, Please, do this without further delay.
